A Message from Infant Toddler Family Day Care on StopAAPIHate

Infant Toddler Family Day Care mourns the loss of the eight people killed in Atlanta last week, including six Asian American women.  We stand in solidarity with the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) community especially those represented in our staff, Board of Directors, providers, families, children and supporters. We celebrate equity, diversity, and inclusiveness because these traits are vital to supporting all healthy children and communities.

We want to reiterate our commitment we made last year during the Black Lives Matter movement:  https://www.infanttoddler.com/itfdc-statement-standing-in-solidarity/.  We realize that there is much more work for all of us to do.  Infant Toddler Family Day Care was founded with the motto ‘Become Part of Our Family’.  We will continue to work to ensure that ALL can be part of our family fairly and equally.

In the meantime, we want to share some resources from Zero to Three on how to teach children to celebrate differences from the start and PBS Kids’ Arthur themed toolkit on helping children cope with upsetting events.
