NO FEE. \nAuthentic Assessment – Honoring Children’s Hard Work \nIn this workshop we will look at\, and talk about\, what assessment is – who and why are we conducting assessments; we will review the Virginia Foundation Blocks for Learning; examine the documentation process; complete several observations\,  talk about work samples; define the tools of the trade and finally understand how the use of a “portfolio” assists in planning learning opportunities\, and finally how portfolios provide necessary support during meetings with parents/guardians of the children in your care. \n  \nInfant/Toddler Art – Mess Is the BEST! \nArt experiences for infants and toddlers are important in supporting the development of their creativity and self-expression.  While art may look like a BIG MESS\, these experiences help to increase verbal abilities\, FREE thought and gives children the opportunity to develop a life-long love of art.  In this workshop we will look at how art impacts all areas of a child’s development\, how to implement meaningful activities in your daily plan and give attendees the opportunity to experience art activities that they can take back and implement in their program on Monday!
